Febuary Empties

When getting to the end of a product I know that I loved it.. the best products are the ones you use to the very last drop you can get! If I really did love a product I repurchase it time and time again as I then cant imagine my routine without it. This is a makeup/skincare empty's with a random hair one thrown in! Ok its 15 days past February but... better late than never.

Anatomicals Skincare

Anatomicals 'we only want you for your body' they say is a brand that I've always noticed and been drawn to because of their amazing packaging/branding. When you see their products you cant help but turn your eyes to their lively packaging.  The bright colours, fun packing and witty names make this brand a winner for me also not to mention their products really do work miracles.

Anatomicals kindly sent some products over for me to try... safe to say I have tried the brand before and loved it so I was excited.
  • sud the lot of you get lost grime body cleanser.
  • get outta my face dirtball apricot face scrub.
  • the toning cucumber face mask lettuce give thanks for it.
  • grease isn't the word tell me more tell me more. (if you don't know, then why don't you!?)
  • I feel the need, the need for seaweed calming algae face mask.

Benefit's BADgal BANG Mascara

If any makeup item I struggle with its mascara. If it isn't too clumpy then its the wand that smudges everywhere and if it isn't that then it doesn't do nothing at-all.  I feel like I'm forever searching for the be all end all mascara. I've had a maybe 2 mascaras that have amazed me which includes the Charlotte Tilbury 5-in-1 mascara for perfect eyelashes and yes the Benefit's new BADgal BANG Mascara.

If your A game is strong on social media then you pretty much cant of missed this launch, if so where was you? I was confused how many people thought the new product launch was silly or unnecessary I guess everyone is entitled to an opinion but hating on a launch isn't getting any of us anywhere.

Benefit is known for their over the top launches and why the hell not? If you've created a brand and a new product that your proud of wouldn't you do a big launch? I think so! Besides would you say no to hopping over to the Maldives?

The Badgal packaging is sleek and smooth. Its so lightweight too! The wand is really light and almost like it isn't in your hand. Its a matte type packaging so if your someone who throws there makeup into a bag it is going to get dirty. After my first use I knew why everyone was going crazy for this product.  Benefit claim its a 36 hour wear... I mean what? Also apparently tested on 21 women.

The gravity defying formula contains aero-particles which is one of the lightest materials you can find in space technology. Cool right? The brush is slim and meant to reach corner to corner on your lashes.  For me my lashes are naturally fair because I am, but one coat of this makes such a difference I was truly shocked. You can coat up lots on this if you please but 1/2 times is perfect enough for me.  I would say it is a 'wet' product in some ways when using it little specks can fall out onto your face (everyone's worst mascara nightmare) It does also take a few second to dry so my advice don't sneeze to soon! Just saying.

Over 300 different sized bristles in the brush makes it a dream to get every single last lash coated up with ease. The wand is very very flexible you really don't need a heavy hand. I think Benefit's really done an amazing job with this mascara and are onto something with the whole lightweight space particle's thing.

Final thoughts
This is my everyday mascara now as I reach for it 9/10 times. I recommend this to anyone with any sort of lashes but if you are someone like me with fair lashes this will do a winning job. Benefit really outdid themselves with this, I also love the fact they do a travel size so if your not sure its the mascara for you or cant justify spending £21.50 then the travel one is £10.50.

3 Things You Should Always Keep Private

One of the most notable characteristics of someone is the ability to be discreet, not hiding anything but more so just living a happy private life. Keeping matters private not only creates a sense of trust and mystery but its kind of protocol and good manners. When we come out with a personal problem/confidential matter, we give a invitation to others into that space even if we mean not too.

The other day I noticed so many people on social media think they have a right to ask you personal things because they see 10 percent of your life. In fact I get so many messages on Instagram asking me things I would never be answering about my personal life.

So what are some of the no-go topics? I'm sharing '3 Things You Should Always Keep Private'. Of course there are many aspects of life that we should keep to ourselves (at the very least only choose to confide in parents, doctors, partner or closest friend)

For me there is 3 that really stand out that I keep private.  Love life, income and your next big move. In a world where everything and everyone is over exposed don't tell your life to anyone who is willing to listen

Don't give people the privilege of knowing everything about you with the exceptional to close family and ride or die friends.

 1. LOVE LIFE - Whether a relationship, just getting to know someone or anything intimate between two people should only be enjoyed by the 2 parties who are involved! The 'bedroom' so speak is something you should/want to keep private.. because really is it anyone else's concern? Sure we all have a friend or two that we spill the juicy gossip too or just like guys we DO sit around and talk everything to do with the 'men' topic.  What I'm hinting to is don't have your words spilling out to a co-worker on a Monday morning during a coffee break! Not everyone is going to be happy for you and they will voice that, so why even give them chance? I have never ever put anything of a relationship near social media.. purely down to the fact does making it on social media mean we made it in real life? Sure I may hint or you may see a insight from time to time but that's it. Whatever circumstance your love life should be not hidden but private.   Remember ... never kiss and tell.

2. INCOME - Ok so unless your applying for a house or purchasing something extravagant that requires you to expose your income your money should never be a topic of any conversation. Discussing with friends or even family members can bring bitter emotions towards a person if they think someone else is earing more or managing money better. Its a polite and right thing to do, who else is spending your income? Lets be real money makes the world go round as much as some people hate to think it (that paper controls us) The amount of money we earn, have or even saved makes people automatically judge us. I took someone on vacation once as a surprise and I had work colleagues and friends asking me "how did you afford that" "where are you getting your money from" Almost as if it was a terrible thing I did. All you need to know is your money is your business. NOTHING good can come from sharing your income.

3. NEXT MOVE -  Moving down the road? Moving to the other side of the world? Or just simply making your way up in the world? My advice is to stay tight lipped about future plans. A favourite quote of mine is "work hard in silence and let your success be the noise" The main reason for this is because you may have plans, goals and aspirations in life but you never know how they are going to unfold. You tell someone such as your going to go for a promotion or move to another job and it can become gossip that certain individuals will thrive off and get a kick out of. Make people see how your doing by your actions. Not all people have the best intention for you and not everyone is a well wisher. There is people who are silently waiting for your downfall.

I see so many people online sharing every details of their life down to the last details, and I cant help think why? I know so many people who think they know of me and my life but in fact they know nothing.  Just because something isn't on social media doesn't mean moves aren't being made ... ;)

Leave a little mystery it kills people.

Gild Hall - A Thompson Hotel Review

As most of you probably know I visited New York recently for the first time. I loved it. Its definitely  fair to say I explored the city up and down for a week straight. This review is going to be on Gild Hall which is a hotel by Thompson

Its no secret I am picky when it comes to hotels. I want to my hotels to be boutique, luxurious and above all, in a thriving location.  When choosing a hotel I really do my research and prefer to trust personal recommendations from family, friends even fellow bloggers are great. I will be researching up to a year in advance sometimes. Especially if its a destination I haven't visited before.

Gild Hall is a luxury boutique hotel located in the heart of the new Lower Manhattan that you wouldn't guess was even their. A side to Wall Street you never knew existed Financial District brings the unseen side of Wall Street to life and I really enjoyed it. Its a great hotel in a quiet and convenient location in walking distance to most major attractions. Such as ground zero, brooklyn bride, brookfield plaza and west fields as well as close to downtown soho and little Italy.

I stayed at Gild Hall for 3 nights during my city break to New York. I cant complain about anything. Firstly, the location is perfect like I mentioned above. Close walking distance to a lot but also you have near by subways to take you anywhere you want to go. Around Lower Manhattan you have lots of quirky food places everywhere. You would never be at a loss of where to grab a quick bite or for a meal.  The hotel also has its own restaurants Felice Ristorante which is a mature Tuscan eatery with a damn good wine list.  The vibe in Felice Ristorante is a warm, cozy vibe that makes you wonder are you in NYC or Florence. Felice is open to the hotel guests and public.

Gild Hall also have a tasteful looking wine bar upstairs named La Soffitta . Quick drinks after a busy day or a catch up with friends you couldn't be disappointed being surrounded by elegant custom lighting, glowing bottle-lined walls (so cool).  I really loved how tasteful the décor was designed.

BE ITALIAN- Because what else? This big piece of art really stood out and by the looks of it everyone who has ever possibly stayed at Gild Hall has also photographed this.

Surprise Surprise that I had a smoked salmon bagel huh..? Not really. The photo doesn't do the bagel any favour's. My food photography skills are going to get better. They have too! Especially for someone who loves food!!  The breakfast menu was soo good. I could of easily chosen everything.

If the food isn't in your stride you are in a great spot being right near and in walking distance of a few bars/restaurants.

If your a Starbucks lover like me then you will be happy to know there is one right across the road. I mean what could go wrong.. not like I had 2/3 everyday .. moving on.

Everyone I spoke to before heading to New York let me know how you shouldn't expect a large style room.. I asked why?  I got the response " because its New York" quite a few times. The rooms at Gild Hall are the perfect size and the layout is smart. They use the space wisely. The room was just the right size. It wasn't the largest room ever but for sure not the smallest.

You can choose from staying in:
  • King Superior
  • King Deluxe
  • King Premium
  • Double Deluxe
  • King Suite
  • Thompson Suite
  • Penthouse Suite

  •
Obviously like any hotel depending on which room you decide to stay in will reflect in the price.
All the rooms are designed by Jim Walrod who was an assistant art director for the Italian fashion house, Fiorucci. The Italian style comes into play again within the room and hallways.

I have to comment on how comfy the beds was. I never slept so good like that in any hotel bed!  400 thread count sferra linens are not going to disappoint. The hotel area is really quiet at night time, which some people find hard to believe.. especially in the middle of the hustle and bustle that we call Wall Street where nothing stops!

The bathroom was stylish. The lighting was .. well selfie approved. Lets just saying the lighting of dreams. Haha.

    Restaurant Hours
    Mon – Sat: 6:30am – 10:30pm
    Sun: 7:00am – 10:30pm
    Room Service Hours
    Mon – Sat: 6:30am – 10:30pm
    Sun: 7:00am – 10:30pm

Some hotels don't offer room service as the same hours the restaurant where as Gild Hall does. The menu is impressive. Something for everyone. The rooms also have a book like a guide but not as such for food places in the area! Bonus! Love that.

The hallways are filled with amazing photos. I'm pretty sure every guest has been and looked at all photo they have around the hotel. They are definitely striking.

You walk in and are immediately impressed by the lobby décor. You have to take it all in and look around everything. Leather, wood, candles make the lobby relaxing and a comfy place to sit an do some laptop work in the mornings, afternoons or evenings.

The staff at the front desk are lovely. I mentioned when I visit anywhere if the staff are nice and really show attentive to you then the visit feels 100x better and welcoming. Its safe to say the front desk staff got a lot of questions from me, nothing was too much! They value their guests is more than impressive when a hotel is non-stop.

Staying with Gild Hall during my first ever trip to New York made me love and discover a side to the city I never thought was even there. The perfect boutique hotel in area you wont be disappointed by.

A big thanks to all the staff who made me comfy during my stay and Thompson Hotels; Gild Hall for hosting this stay.

Thompson hotels have hotels in all different locations as you can see down below.
If I ever cross any of the locations I will be for sure to stay with Thompsons.

I'm going to be writing about my time in New York as a whole, so keep an eye out!
NYC is really the city that doesn't sleep, but there is something so memorizing that you will for sure never be able to forget.

I loved this crazy, busy and vibrant city and wouldn't fail to take a trip again at any given point.
